Recently graduated from Edinburgh University with a BMus (Hons). Now training to be a secondary music teacher.
Alison Scott is a classically trained Soprano from Stirling. She is in her final year studying music at Edinburgh University. She first studied voice with Alex Goskirk, and is presently under the tutelage of Margaret Aronson. Alison was awarded the Nan Reith Medal at the Edinburgh Competition Festival in 2014. She is a member of the National Youth Choir of Scotland, touring with them to Eastern Europe in 2013 and next year to the USA. She was a founding member of the BBC proms youth choir and has also sung with the RSNO Chorus and SCO Chorus, performing in such venues as the Usher Hall, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Glasgow City Halls. She spent a summer working at a performing arts camp in upstate New York as a specialist voice counsellor. Alison also teaches private piano and singing lessons and works as a musicianship teacher with the NYCoS Stirling area choir. She regularly performs in concerts in the Falkirk and Stirling area. She has been involved with several community music projects, including ‘Watching,’ a children’s opera at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh last year.
