Singer (soprano)
Stirling

Alison Scott is a classically trained Soprano and works as a full time Music Teacher. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BMus (Hons) in 2016 before training to be a secondary music teacher at Moray House. Alison was awarded the Nan Reith Medal at the Edinburgh Competition Festival in 2014. She was a member of the National Youth Choir of Scotland for 6 years, touring nationally and internationally to London, Eastern Europe and the USA. She was a founding member of the BBC proms youth choir and has also sung with the RSNO Chorus and SCO Chorus, performing in such venues as the Usher Hall, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Glasgow City Halls. She spent a summer working at a performing arts camp in upstate New York as a specialist voice counsellor. Alison previously built up a successful teaching practice, teaching private piano and singing lessons and worked as a musicianship teacher with the NYCoS Stirling area choir. She regularly performs in concerts and at weddings in the Central Belt. Alison can sing a wide range of repertoire, from musicals and jazz to Scottish and classical. Her expertise lies in Christian music, having played as the organist at a Bannockburn church for the past 10 years. Alison regularly works with a pianist who is available to play with her. Alison has a wide range of established repertoire, but is also flexible and happy to learn any particular songs you would like included in your event, or suggest music that might be suitable. Alison is reliable and organised with exceptionally high standards, and would love to be a part of your special day.

Alison is an experienced and highly trained singer who sang at our wedding during the signing of the register. Prior to the wedding day she met with us and helped us decide on what songs we felt fitted in best with our day. As an Edinburgh University music graduate, she was able to share her expertise and help us make the best decision on the music we wanted. When reminiscing about our wedding our family and friends still talk about Alison's beautiful voice as being a highlight of the day. We couldn't recommend Alison enough!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My performances are thoughtful and personal to the client. For weddings, I help clients choose songs which are meaningful to them for their special day. What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I try my best to be flexible and to ensure your event runs smoothly. If event times change, let me know as soon as possible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This is not a service I currently offer.

How much time do you need to set up?

I take about 30 minutes to set up but like to be there approximately an hour before the event to ensure I am prepared.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I am happy to learn specific songs if you have certain requests. This is something we can discuss in your consultation.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I can bring all the equipment to the venue if necessary, but some venues do have pianos available which is also possible to use.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

My song list is not exhaustive, so we can discuss if there is a song you would like that is not included there. If you have a special song you would like to include I am happy to learn this, and this may involve an extra fee of £25 to take into account rehearsal times.
