Alicia Nurho

"Perknos" is the result of a lifelong journey rooted in music, curiosity, and a deep connection with beauty and meaning. I grew up surrounded by art and traveled a lot as a child, always feeling that the violin would become my lifelong companion. I studied BA in performing arts, piano, voice, and composition, and although science and architecture fascinated me, I chose music as my true path—while still blending it with my love for logic and structure. Perknos was born from Alicia Nurho—my artistic alter ego—because I needed a very specific concept to express the way I connect with music in special moments. It’s a personal approach to ceremonial music, not just in performance but in the deep, intimate arrangements I create for violin, piano, my voice and cello. It’s not exactly a continuation of my path as a composer, but rather a space where I can honour ritual, atmosphere, and emotion. Over the years, I worked as a session musician with names like Paradise Lost and The Rebels, and collaborated with studios such as Orgone and Warner’s Jagoba Ormaetxea. Since 2021, I’ve been the main violinist in Madrid’s WAH show—and yes, I once tried Eurovision too. Music has given me stories, rituals, and connection. Ask me anything—I’m happy to share.
