Alice Angliss

Alice read music at St Catherine's College, Oxford before taking up a place on the postgraduate course at the Royal College of Music studying Orchestral Percussion & Timpani, supported by an Ernest Hecht Award. She now pursues a career in theatre work, orchestral playing and teaching. Alice freelances across the UK in concert halls, theatres and recording studios as well as being a member of the London-based percussion trio, Beaten Track. Recent work has included TV and radio performances with 'Tina: The Tina Turner Musical' and 'Six The Musical'; depping on the UK & Europe tours of 'Miss Saigon' and ‘Bat Out Of Hell’; UK & Ireland tours of 'Love Actually in Concert'; recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios and BBC Maida Vale; and a session with the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Marin Alsop. She spent six weeks in Sicily as Principal Timpani for the Mediterranean Opera Festival and toured Denmark with a production of 'The Nutcracker'. She is currently playing drums on 'Six The Musical' in the West End and covers the Keys/MD chair as well. She has taught percussion at Tiffin Girls School and both 1:1 and classroom music for the Da Capo Music Foundation. She currently teaches percussion, drums and piano from her home studio.
