Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The upbeat, friendly energy and joyful atmosphere I create!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The London Improv Theatre, The Watford Palace Theatre, The Watford Colleseum, Fresh Shop Cafe, The Kitchen Croxley, The Seven Dials Club Covent Garden, Jadal Cultural Cafe

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jnr, Louis Armstrong, Jamie Cullum, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I took to the stage at the Watford Celebration event at the impressive Watford Colleseum, and also performed there during Lobby Live as an opener for Jools Holland!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can provide a playlist of jazz standards to play between my sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually arrive at a venue 45 minutes before the start time, and set up usually takes around 20 minutes. It's good to arrive early, settle in and ensure everyone is comfortable!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Of course! I generally have a set list arranged but am always happy to have a discussion about particular songs you might want to include or exclude.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I can. I prefer to use the venue's equipment if they have it because it will be appropriate for the space, but I can bring everything I need if required.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list there may still be a chance I already know it, in which case I'm happy to include it straight away. If there is a special song you'd like me to learn which I don't already know, I'm also happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.

Alex is host of the popular Dial Up open mic events which I've attended for over a decade. He has a confident, carefree style that makes him the perfect accompaniment for any party or event. It's as much of. pleasure seeing him in full voice as it is to watch him create a welcoming environment where everyone feels free to join in. His merriment is infectious!

Dial M, 2019 years ago

A great singer, host and all round entertainer, kept everyone smiling the whole night through!
