Alex Suckling

Alex lives and works in London, working as as a freelance trumpet player but also as a marketing account executive. He plays with Elegant Entertainment's Keep Off The Brass, a three-piece brass-and-DJ-outfit who hold a Saturday night residency at Marco Pierre White's restaurant in Birmingham. He is also a member of Birmingham-based function bands Charlie and the Funk Factory and The Notochords, both of which gig regularly up and down the country. As a University of Birmingham Biomedical Undergraduate and Trauma Science Postgraduate, Alex held the second trumpet chair in the University Big Band, an outfit directed by Jonathan Silk, soloing on stage alongside renowned jazz greats such as Bobby Shew, Mark Lockheart and Stan Sulzmann. He also played regularly in the Birmingham Jazz collective. Prior to university, Alex attended the Royal Academy of Music Junior Jazz program under the kind tuition of Gareth Lochrane.
