Alex Robertson is a singer and songwriter from north Cornwall. His music is influenced by the people in his life and places he has been, and Alex’s songs come from the heart. His spontaneous songwriting style has resulted in a diverse range of acoustic melodies accompanied by honest and personal lyrics. Alex has performed at festivals such as Rock Oyster, The Little Orchard, The Great Estate, & has performed at various events around Cornwall such as Paul Ainsworths Travelling Feast & The Eden Project on more than one occasion. Alex first picked up a guitar at the age of 14, and his style has been evolving ever since. A lover of many genres, he lets his creativity run free when writing, practicing and performing. Alex’s aim is to connect with his audience on a deep and personal level. His recent debut single, ‘Cast Aside’, captures an introspective mood whilst also showcasing a playful joyfulness. Fans of Damien Rice, Newton Faulkner, Ben Howard & Eddie Vedder are sure to love Alex’s music.

Alex was a pleasure to deal with before and during his performance. His acoustic sound was perfect for our Sunday Session. We highly recommend Alex and we will be inviting him back next summer.

I hired Alex to play at a summer garden party for a charity I work for. Alex was nothing but professional the entire time and had the audience captivated with his friendly sound. A fantastic mix of acoustic songs kept a smile on many faces while others sang along. I would highly recommend Alex to entertain and will definitely be inviting him back to play again.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I get alot of lovely comments from various clients who praise me for my vocal delivery and unique style. I have a broad rage of influences and I often get recognised for this.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have performed at Rock Oyster Festival, The Eden Project for various events including the Kings Coronation and the Queens platinum Jubilee, The Little Orchard Festival, The Great Estate Festival, Paul Ainsworths Travelling Feast, and various Bars, Markets & Private Events.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I am most influenced by artists such as Eddie Vedder, Hozier, Ben Harper, John Butler, Mike Love, and Ben Howard.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Some of my most high profile gigs I've performed were for Paul Ainsworths Travelling Feast, and for the Eden Project at a few of their large events Including The Kings Coronation, The Queens Platinum Jubilee, The 10th annual Pasty Championships, and Halloweden.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

That's okay, if timings need to be amended I can be flexible with enough notice. This is dependent on wether or not I have a second booking on the day. I can understand that plans change so if all details are communicated things can run smoothly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I have personally curated playlists but I am also happy to play requested playlists should you have some personal favourites you would like to hear. This can be added for an extra £50.

How much time do you need to set up?

I generally need 45 minutes to set up my equipment. I can arrive earlier if needed and provide playlists for an hour before the performance and during the interval for an additional £50.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely, you can select whichever songs from my setlist that you like. I am also happy to accommodate new cover song requests should you give me enough notice before the event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, all equipment for my performances is provided by myself. I will either bring my full PA system for medium to largr events, or my compact amplifier for smaller events. Both provide beautiful quality sounding guitar and vocals, as well as high quality recorded music during breaks. The only thing I would require from you is a plug socket.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, with at least 7 days notice I will always do the best I can to accommodate specific requests. I may refuse if the request is not well suited to me.
