Alex Ragusa

London UK based, born in Rome, Italy, in 1985 I developed my music passion since my early school days. Classical music is my first listen, but at 12 I lose my mind for the Scott Joplin ragtime during a music class . At 13 I buy my first guitar and at 17 my first drums given to me by my mother. The approach with the drum-kit is more fluid and personal, so I start to play in dozens of local bands of my city, with which I play most of the musical genres. My education is half purely academic and half self-taught, trought my experiences I attended Saint Luiss College in Rome and the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles CA, but I also studied with my mentor Maurizio Antonini, in Colombia with Andres Giraldo and in California US with Chuck Silverman. I started teaching at a very young age, at the age of 23 I teach drums in a small school in the province of Rome, Accedemia Giuliano Ferilli, later I studied and taught in Colombia at Solo Rock Musical, I currently teach free lance between Rome and London. My biggest passion is for the record production and its favorite genres are rock'n'roll, blues, soul and funky. My approach to the instrument is very raw but romantic at the same time, lover of the drum tradition since the first rudiments, my personal drum-kit is composed by a Ludwig Classic Maple custom 14 ", 13", 16 ", 24" and Paiste 2002 Cymbals-set heavy hi-hat 14 ", crash medium 19"ride 20" and a wild crash 19".
