After growing up in the musical surroundings of Northamptonshire, Alex has grown to be a versatile and dedicated musician. Having completed his Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Melanie Ragge, Tom Blomfield and Sue Böhling Alex now works as a freelance musician based in Northamptonshire. Since starting his studies in Wales, highlights have been to play with the New London Orchestra and alongside the Welsh National Opera. At the Academy Alex performed regularly, with highlights including Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and a livestreamed performance of Le Toumbeau De Couperin under the baton of Trevor Pinnock. A versatile teacher, Alex offers lessons for the oboe, piano, organ, music theory and sound recording. Having dedicated a substantial amount of time over the last few years, Alex has a keen focus for reed making. He now sells handmade reeds and also offers lessons for those interested in the manufacturing process.
