Hello, my name is Alex Moody.
I am from Jersey (Channel Islands) and have been living in London since 2012.
Music has always been a big part of my life, starting with my Grandfather who was an established jazz musician in the UK. My eldest brother carried on the line of musicians and we have shared many stages together. My first days as a drummer were spent in a drum line with my local Scout band. This is where my love for drumming first started. I spent two years playing the snare drum before I eventually moved on to a full kit at the beginning of secondary school. Having an older brother who was already working definitely helped me learn a lot and quickly, I remember playing my first gig in a pub aged 13 and being very nervous! The rest of my teenage years were spent doing sessions in Jersey, juggling school and music. I then moved to London for the first time to further my music studies at Tech music schools where at aged 16 I gained a BTEC national diploma in Popular Music Performance.
In the time since, I have been fortunate enough to cover all different aspects of working as a musician and continued to record and play live with various bands in Europe and the U.K. Some of the highlights of my career include sessions at BBC Maida Vale and becoming and endorsee for Vater Drumsticks. I also have experience working in T.V and radio, some of these sessions include BBC radio 1, BBC London and numerous regional stations.
Drums is my first instrument and I am pretty comfortable with most percussive instruments. I am also confident with singing backing vocals.
Outside of music, my main passion is travel. I love it! I am lucky enough to have lived in different parts of the world, which also inspired me at a young age to see as much of the world as I can. A life goal of mine is to somehow figure out a way to incorporate both. I have a strong work ethic and I feel with a lot of hard work and commitment this goal is achievable!.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Al
