Alex Hinton-Smith

I am a 23 year old bassist with years of experience in pit orchestras, concerts, and studio work. I primarily work in pit orchestras as a bassist typically playing electric bass but also occasionally double bass and doubling shows too. I've worked for a variety of amateur companies with many different MDs around Outer London and Oxfordshire. Starting out in bands at age 15, my second band eventually got signed to a small label where I gained valuable experience recording multiple EPs and playing big gigs, headlining the O2 Oxford at 18 years old. From there I left Oxford to study Music Business at BIMM Brighton where I achieved a First Class Honours and simultaneously used this time to gain experience and follow my passion of playing in pit orchestras with am-dram companies around Outer London and my home-town Oxford. I have played a variety of shows during this time from traditional musicals such as Kiss Me Kate and My Fair Lady to modern classics such as Legally Blonde, Sister Act, and The Wedding Singer among many more. I am a strong reader with experience depping in function bands with no prior rehearsal and coming in as a pit player at the last minute for shows. I pride myself on being incredibly easy to work with, bringing passion to every project I am involved with, and always being receptive to notes or feedback!
