Music and performance are my passions. Bringing crowds of people to life, uniting them and showing them a good time is what I do. I believe music is fundamental to making an event successful. It sets the mood. It creates feeling. Over the past 20 years, I have performed professionally across the UK and internationally at gigs, festivals, weddings and events, playing a broad and varied repertoire of music. Styles range from classic and modern pop, soul, rock, jazz to country and plenty of other styles in-between. Whether you are looking for a wedding singer, an act for a corporate event or party, or a musician to entertain your punters, please look no further. I perform solo or with my band, The Chapmen, and can DJ as well. No matter the set up, I work to ensure the music played is perfect for the occasion, meaning everyone has a great time.

We've known and followed Alex for over 15 years. He has played for us at our work events and several private celebrations over the years. We first meet him at our local pub. Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Once you've booked me, you have my commitment to make your event go as smoothly as possible. That includes flexing around changing schedules on the day.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, absolutely! I provide interim music as standard but for a fully engaged experience I can DJ for an extra fee - please see pricing structure for further info.

How much time do you need to set up?

10 minutes for a ceremony or drinks reception. 30-40 minutes for an evening performance. 60-90 mins for an evening performance with DJ set up 60-90 mins for the band. Depending on the event and the room availability, I aim to set up 1 hour before people arrive.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course! Experience from hundreds of private events has taught me that my set lists work well to keep a dance floor full. Guests' best intentions can sometimes work against that concept, however, I'm always happy to take requests and weave them into the evening where I see the opportunity.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! You provide the power, I plug in and go! If we're outside, I'll need a cover of some kind overhead, as well as for the floor. I've always found it best to keep electricity well away from the wet (ground or air), otherwise we tend to get some interesting and unwanted fireworks.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Of course, that's what I do! A well-performed song doesn't just happen, though, so all I ask is for a little time to learn the song and bed it in a few times before the day. A month would be great, 2 months is a luxury. But I have been known to learn the odd song in a car park an hour before I perform it...
