Alessandro Giusti

I was born in Ivrea, in Northern Italy, in 1977. I started playing music at the age of 12 on the keyboard. Between 13 and 17 years of age I studied classical music and obtained the Diploma in Musical Theory for Instrumentalists and Composers at the “Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi” in Turin (1993). I then played bass and then guitar in different bands, ranging from blues to rock, country and folk. After a few years I developed a particular interest in American and Irish folk music, and in February 2007 I moved to Dublin, where I embarked in a new journey playing Irish traditional music on banjo, violin and mandolin, learning from different teachers around Ireland and regularly joining sessions in Dublin. In 2010 I passed the Comhaltas Scrúdú Ceol Tíre on performance (violin), theory and history of Irish Traditional Music. In the meanwhile I kept busy playing other genres and doing live gigs and recordings with different bands and projects.
