Alanna Baguley

I'm told that on the day I was born, I bawled so loudly that the doctors laughed and said, "There's a pair of lungs on that one! We've got a singer here." I have been singing all my life, and have had lessons since the age of 13. Through my teens I was lucky enough to be taught by Zuilmah Hopkins. After this I spent three years at Huddersfield University, where I was taught by several teachers including Rachel Nicholls, Yvonne Seymour and Jane Anthony. I graduated in 2014 with a first class degree, majoring in solo performance (with an extra module in French!), and winning the Music Department Singing Prize for that year's highest singing mark. I have been part of many choirs, including the Tees Valley Youth Choir (from 2005-2011), the Huddersfield Choral Society (2011-2013), and the Huddersfield University Chamber Choir (2012-2014). With these ensembles I have sung in venues around Europe, in competitions, such as the BBC Choir of the Year, and in festivals, including the Brinkburn Music Festival, and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. Currently I am living in Teesside, embarking on my 25th trip around the sun, and doing a part-time course. I am available Monday evenings, Thursdays, Fridays and weekends. PLEASE NOTE: For pop/folk I can accompany myself on getting uitar, however for classical pieces at present I do not have an accompanist - I am happy to work with any pianists /musicians/ensembles you have also booked.
