I'm Ais! I'm a vivacious and versatile session singer, vocal coach & mentor based in North Somerset/Bristol. I'm a professional session singer and front two original projects, Ekhidna & Sang Froid. I also provide Vocal Coaching privately and in institutes across the South West of England. A vast amount of my experience is in performing, session singing, coaching, touring and recording. It's always hard to define what kind of music I like, perhaps easier to write what I don't like...but my main influences are: Bjork, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Beyonce, Tori Amos, FKA Twigs, Goldfrapp, Kate Bush, Punch Brothers, Mike Patton, Mew, King Crimson, Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys.

I’ve been having vocal sessions with Ais for nearly a year now. It’s improved my confidence and my singing range so much. The lessons are so fun and so freeing. I couldn’t recommend Ais’s sessions high enough!

Ais has got the most incredible voice, and knows how to extend her knowledge about it to others. She's patient, well versed in explaining the voice and super fun to be around. To be able to learn from someone who has such a unique voice and knows how to find other people's unique voice is pretty amazing.

Function

A mixture of songs ranging from Folk to Pop to Soul to Motown. The set(s) will consist of vocals backed by a Roland Stage piano and backing tracks for the second / third sets. The sets have been carefully curated, rehearsed and perfected for events such as wedding ceremonies, hotel, bar or private events. Please kindly note that the due to being a one person piano led performer, the sets are not as full or upbeat as a complete function band however would suit the ceremonial section or a more laid back event (background music). If you wish to add tracks to the setlist, note that there will be an additional charge of £10 per track to cover rehearsal times.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I can be flexible within reason and will always to my absolute best to accommodate.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, for an additional cost which can be discussed.

How much time do you need to set up?

45 minutes to 1hr.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My setlists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best with my vocal range in a celebratory environment. You can include a handful of chosen tracks, however my rendition may differ to the original depending on your choices.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I can provide a Roland stage piano, microphone and all necessary cables. I will require you to source a PA with a two track mixing desk.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes absolutely, if there is a piece that you would love to have during your special day then please let me know. There is an additional fee per chosen song to cover rehearsal of the tracks. As mentioned before, I will do my absolute best to accommodate depending on the range and style of the song.
