Moodie is one of the newest in a long line of talented young musicians to come from Orkney’s thriving traditional music scene. With two of Celtic Connections’ coveted Danny Kyle Awards under his belt, Aidan’s music has seen him perform to royalty, as well as audiences in Belgium, Norway, Germany, and back home at the award-winning Orkney Folk Festival, where he performed as the sole guitarist for ‘Orkney Folk: The Gathering’ (2015). Aidan’s guitar work has also seen him become a sought-after accompanist amongst Glasgow’s traditional singers, where he’s performed alongside Iona Fyfe, Christy Scott, Ella Munro, and many others. At 20 years old, Aidan is now in his third year of studying acoustic guitar and Scots song as part of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Traditional Music degree.
