The interesting combination of cold Finland and spicy Mexico comes together when listening to Aeon Duo. This new ensemble was formed in autumn 2013 when both Essi Kiiski and Eduardo Andrade started their studies at the Royal College of Music in London. Very soon they noticed similar characteristics between these two distant nations and began their collaboration. Aeon is an incomparable duo where Kiiski’s musicality and Andrade’s virtuosity are combined together.
The players share a passion for adventuring into different styles and their repertoire ranges from traditional classical works and pieces composed by Andrade to folkloric and pop music.
During the 2015 the duo performed music to celebrate Sibelius´s 150 years as well as Mexican music as part of UK-Mexico Cultural year with performances in the Aberdeen International Youth Festival as part of their Highlight Series.
Essi Kiiski has graduated from the Master of Performance course on July 2015 and Eduardo Andrade is studying his Bachelor of Music with the support of the a Parnassus and John Nickson Award. Currently Essi plays in the Southbank Sinfonia being supported by Lesley Titcomb & Mark Prisk MP.
The duo has performed in UK, Finland and Mexico and in October 2016 they will have a debut concert in Italy.
The latin word Aeon was chosen by the duo because its meaning is "Life" or "Eternity". They believe that music is an art form that transcends time in a very unique way and with every performance they bring to life those sounds that either have been listened for centuries or are just starting to make their way through the world of music.
