I’m a singer and songwriter from Colombia who lived many years in Barcelona and now lives in London. I was lucky to be born in a musical and artistic family so music was always around me and I started singing from a very young age. After finishing my Fashion Design career, I decided to start my musical studies in “L’Aula de Jazz y Musica Moderna” in Barcelona in 2009 where I received a scholarship from the “AIE” in my last year. I also completed two levels of the “Estill Voice training” vocal technique with Helen Rowson.
Since I finished my musical studies I had an active musical career in Barcelona where I performed in places like Jamboree jazz club, Marula, Sala B, Sala Barts, Robadors 23 or El Siglo.
I was invited to participate in the 45th edition of the “Voll-Damm Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona” in 2014, where I performed next to recognized musicians of the local scene such as Horacio Fumero, Salvador Toscano and Bartolomeo Barenghi.
I was the singer of the “Orquesta Ilegal de Barcelona”, which was part of the every week program at the Harlem Jazz Club in Barcelona for almost three years and who was invited to perform at the MPB Festival in 2013 and 2014, and in the event “Jazz and Food”, opening of the 46th Edition of the “Voll-Damm Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona” in 2016.
I was part of the “Jam Gospel Singers” and “Gospel Messengers” choirs conducted by Ramon Escalé with whom I performed in places like Palau de la música catalana, Montjuic Castle, Luz de gas in the “Mas i Mas” festival, La Pedrera and the Teatro Principal de Maó, Menorca.
A part from singing I’ve had an active career as a singing and music teacher giving private lessons to students of different ages and levels. I have also given singing lessons at “Shine” Music School and extracurricular modern singing lessons and music for young children at the “Escola Joan Roca” primary school in Barcelona.
I have many different musical influences such as Jazz, Pop, soul, Latin American music or Brazilian music and have collaborated with artists such as Sofia Ribeiro, Magda Giannikou, Bartolomeo Barenghi, Andres Rotmistrovsky, Stephanie Cayo and my brothers Juan Andrés Ospina y Nicolás Ospina.
