About Adam Lewis

A versatile drummer who always protects the beat above all
Drummer
London

Adam Lewis is a drummer with nearly 30 years playing under his belt; across multiple genres. Touring since 2003, music is his lifeblood. Jazz trained from the beginning he was a member of the highly acclaimed (at the time) Truro College Big Band along with The Cornwall Youth Jazz Orchestra in addition to multiple original bands in his homeland of Cornwall. Upon moving to London in 2000 he played in various bands and as a session player until landing the gig with Industrial band Panic DHH (with Robertson Furze of the Big Pink) supporting KMFDM and Mortiis amongst others, then onto Gibraltarian Flamenco/Metal band Breed77 who he toured extensively with playing many prestigious festivals such as Download, Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park etc. Adam then took a few years out to become a professional tattoo artist, eventually coming back to music to play with Blues/Rock duo Swampmother (AA Williams previous project), Blues/Rock band Leogun (touring with Airbourne and recording an EP with award winning producer Adrian Hall) as well as various sessions live and in the studio. He also came back to Jazz at this time, playing with multiple ensembles in a freelance fashion as well as various Pop/function gigs and studio sessions across many different genres. He is currently playing with up and coming Brighton based Metal/Punk/DnB band The Undaunted. Conscientious and adaptable with a high level of attention to detail, Adam prides himself in providing a solid foundation for other performers to freely work on top of. He considers it his mission to serve the music rather than making the music serve him - musicality is paramount. He is well versed in Funk/Soul/RnB; HipHop/Electronic/EDM/Breakbeat/DnB; most idioms of Jazz (BeBop, Post Bop, Hard Bop, Third Stream/Modern, Latin/Afro-Cuban etc); Blues; Rock/Punk/Metal and 20th/21st Century Pop. Will turn his hand to most other genres and is always happy to tour.
