I was immediately struck by [Adam's] comprehension and insight into this new score [Hèctor Parra's opera Wilde]. His piano playing is technically superb and extraordinarily beautiful. He really is able to evoke the different orchestral colours on his instrument. The singers loved to work with him and he prepared them really well. Until the end of the production he was helping me and the singers with critical comments which not only showed his very good ears, but also taste and sensitivity. With all that knowledge, skills and talent he made us forget completely his relatively young age and I am convinced that Adam Cigman-Mark has a very successful future ahead.
I wanted to congratulate you on your truly remarkable performance in the Schreker/Zemlinsky/Ullmann concert last Saturday. The programme was very exciting: I knew the composers in question, but none of the pieces you were presenting, and both the level of performance and the quality of the music far exceeded my expectations. I was particularly impressed by Act II of Schreker’s Die Gezeichneten, where you managed to bring to life some very complex orchestral textures. I was amazed to see that you were playing from memory – what a feat! – but still more by your arrangement and interpretation of the music, which was rich and dramatic [...] My thanks to you, to a very fine group of singers, and to the thoughtful producer – you all made the evening unforgettable.
