singer (Soprano)
Durham/Pembrokeshire

Abigail is a soprano from St David’s where she was a chorister for 10 years (2005-2015), and spent her final two years as head-chorister. In this time, she has been taught by a potential record of four musical directors and has had opportunities to work under other prestigious directors such as Adrian Partington and Nicholas Cleobury. Whilst at St David’s, Abigail performed as soprano soloist with James Bowman, the cathedral choir, and British Sinfonietta in a performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria and Pergolesi’s Magnificat during the cathedral festival in 2015. In the same year, she also performed as a soloist with the Dyfed Choir under the direction of Oliver Waterer. She is now studying for a BA in Music at St Chad’s College, Durham, and is a soprano choral scholar in Hatfield college choir, as well as a member of the Durham Cathedral Consort of Singers (James Lancelot). She also sings regularly with the choir of St John’s College, Durham, and toured with them in Latvia and Estonia earlier this year. Abigail is a member of Durham Opera Ensemble, and made her DOE debut in their concert with Music Durham An Evening with Shakespeare, where she performed as first soprano in Berlioz’s duet Nuit paisible et sereine alongside Durham University Palatinate Orchestra. Abigail also sings with Mousai, directed by Daniel Cook (Westminster Abbey), and, whilst in Durham, receives singing lessons from Austin Gunn. She is a strong sight-reader and has is able to sing very high when required.
