Abi Coggon

Abi is a talented acoustic and electric violinist and pianist performing classical, popular, jazz and folk music and improvisation over live instruments or DJ. Abi first started playing the violin at St. Kenelm's Primary School in Oxfordshire with her teacher Margaret Sidebottom. At the same time she received private piano tuition with Karen Souter. At 16 Abi attained an Associates Diploma at the London College of Music in piano and theory and then went on to study music and performance at the University of Liverpool with Eva Warren and Tony Shorrocks, graduating with a BA(Hons) degree. Since then she has performed with many orchestras and groups over the years including the Sussex Symphony Orchestra, the Musicians of All Saints, the Abercrombie String Quartet, and as a solo performer. She now performs at private events and weddings, and teaches across the whole of Sussex in schools as well as privately. Abi has a fully portable DBS and is a Member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. She also works as an instrumental teacher with Sussex Music School and as a private teacher to children and adults across Sussex.
