Originating from the Caribbean island of St Vincent and the Grenadines and being born into a family of musicians, with exposure to a wide range of instruments from Guitar to Drums and singing, I was introduced to the Steel Pan from the tender age of 5. Having lived within walking distance from a steel band rehearsal room for most of my life, I have accumulated over 25 years experience in both playing and teaching steel pans. My musical journey thus far, has enabled me to perform in other countries, such as most of the 33 Caribbean islands, Caribana celebrations in Canada, Labour day New York, France, Germany and throughout the UK. Throughout the past ten years, I've had the opportunity to perform at the 2014 and 2015 FA Cup semi-finals celebrations at Wembley for the Arsenal team. Some of my most recent performances have been throughout Europe as a Destination Wedding entertainer in Tenerife, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam.

Abdul performed at the drinks reception of our wedding and was absolutely brilliant. He asked lots of questions to work out what songs would work best for the audience and even gave a list of songs that he thought would be suitable, which they were brilliant. We had lots of guests coming up to us afterwards saying how great Abdul was, we would definitely recommend Abdul for your event.

"I can't praise Abdul enough. He sure knows his way around the steel drums, but more than that, he also knows how to entertain. He went the extra mile for us as well, joining in with a couple of extra bits we asked him to do and doing a great job in the process. I hired him for me and my twin brother's 60th ""do"" after my wife said it would be good to have a steel drummer play for the first part of the evening whilst people were gathering and then eating. I wasn't entirely sure at the time, but, just for once, I'm glad I listened to her. Not promising I'll listen again, but this time I have to admit she was right. Abdul's contribution to the evening was a major part in its success. And he's a really nice bloke too. Highly recommended."

I booked Abdul Williams (Steel Sounds) to provide entertainment at a police community event. He was very professional. As well as providing great music. He explained to children and adults alike how the steel drums worked and even allow some to try them out. How much time do you need to set up?

I aim to arrive 30 - 45 minutes prior to performance time for setting up.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

yes please - please feel free to select your preferred song choices from our set list which best suits your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

"Yes absolutely! my act comes with all my own equipment.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Should you require a song/songs to be played on your event day, which is not in my list already, I will be happy to learn it. Please note that there's a fee of £20 charge taking into account rehearsal time.
