About Aaliyah

London's most versatile violinist! I play a wide range of music from Bach and Mozart to Queen, The Beatles and Ed Sheeran.

Aaliyah Booker is an award-winning violinist and scholar from McLean, Virginia. Booker made her solo debut with the McLean Philharmonic Orchestra in 2015 performing Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G Minor, Op. 26. She has since performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Washington Monument and Sheldonian Theatre. Booker graduated summa cum laude from The Hartt School, University of Hartford in 2019. That year, Booker was awarded the John G. Martin Scholarship in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement and went on to pursue further study at the University of Oxford. She completed her MPhil in Music Performance with a distinction from the University of Oxford in 2021. Booker’s research focused on representation and equality in symphony orchestras. She was a key researcher in the Diversity and the British String Quartet project, which was awarded a grant from the University of Oxford’s Humanities Cultural Programme. In autumn 2021, Booker had engagements with the Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors Ceremony at the University of Oxford and at the Barbican Centre in London. Now, Booker has a two year teaching fellowship at The Royal Academy of Music as a Junior Fellow for the First Strings Experience.
