Seven Hills is a highly experienced ceilidh band based in Edinburgh. Between us we have played hundreds of ceilidhs and have now joined forces to create an amazing ceilidh experience for you! Every member has a wealth of experience in playing ceilidh music in venues all over Scotland: Balmoral Hotel, EICC, Dalhousie Castle, Double Tree Aberdeen and The Corn Exchange to name a few. The guys did an absolutely amazing job playing at our wedding a couple of weeks ago. They did such a good job at getting everyone up on the dance floor and the instructions for each dance were perfect! There were a lot of people who had never been to a ceilidh before but everyone we've spoken with absolutely loved it ☺️. It was such a highlight of the day! Thanks so much again

I cannot rate 7 Hills Ceilidh Band highly enough! They were super efficient with their set up before and after the gig, and equally patient in their calling for the dances. Above all their playing was flawless, fun and lively, and it was the making of our wedding reception. The venue manager even ended up taking their card so they can recommend them to future clients, which is surely a good sign! Finally, their communication was friendly and prompt throughout our own slightly chaotic planning process, which made everything that bit less stressful. Thank so much, guys!

On behalf of Edinburgh University Save the Children Society, would like to say a massive thanks for playing at our Charity Winter Ball! It was a tremendous performance with everyone seeming to enjoy the ceilidh. They were very professional and great at communicating all the dances, as well as accommodating our intermissions and any announcements we wanted to make. Would definitely recommend!

Customer questions

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Aye, you're welcome to play your own music from your device through our PA system if you wish e.g. for a first dance at a wedding, or during a break in the dancing. We need to start packing up the PA system immediately after the ceilidh though, so we can't offer it for playing music after our final Auld Lang Syne.

How much time do you need to set up?

We'll need an hour before the start of the ceilidh to allow us to set up the PA and get the band soundchecked and sounding crisp!

Do you provide a caller?

Yes, we will always have an experienced caller in the band to go through each dance before starting! Depending on the gig we may send band members out into the audience to do demonstrations and help organise the sets. With so much experience doing so many different types of events you can rest assured that the calling is going to be great!
