Hey folks, we’ve got a new team member! It’s hard to believe we’ve doubled in size in just the last month, but I’m extremely excited to be able to introduce you to William:
Hi, my name is William. I’ve sung in choirs, played piano and composed since I was a kid. I studied music at Cambridge with a choral scholarship, and afterwards took a masters in computing science at Imperial. I’ll be studying composition at the Royal Academy of Music come this September. I’ve also worked in the classical music industry for 3 years, at the artist management company Intermusica, and the music publishers Boosey & Hawkes. I run the concert series listenpony and work as a freelance web designer.
I’m looking forward to developing Encore during my summer stint here, and am excited to be working on a product that will provide a much needed service to the classical music industry.
The slow turning animation I designed for the above image is an artistic response to the prevalence of circular images on the web. If a circular object isn’t made to be turned, then why make it a circle? It is a subtle social commentary.
