Our journey as musicians is as diverse as our setlist. Jonny D, our frontman, is more than just a vocalist , he’s a storyteller. With a Minor in Acting from UC Irvine and years of performing both on stage and on screen, Jonny brings a charisma and stage presence that draws audiences in from the very first note. His theatrical background means our performances are not just about sound, but about emotion, movement, and connection. The rest of the Unit E lineup is made up of seasoned, multi-talented musicians who have dedicated their lives to their instruments. Ken Parx switches effortlessly between piano, guitar, bass, and vocals, adding layers of depth to our sound. James and Marshall bring a driving energy on guitar and bass, trading instruments mid-show to keep things fresh. Rude Boy’s percussion adds a groove that gets people moving, while Lawdawg’s drumming is the heartbeat that drives the night forward. Each member brings a unique musical background, from formal training to years of live gigging, giving Unit E the ability to adapt to any crowd or venue. Over the years, we’ve built our reputation on versatility and professionalism. We’ve played everything from intimate acoustic sets to high-energy festival stages, tailoring our performances to the audience in front of us. Our setlist covers decades of hits, from the soulful grooves of the ’70s, to ’80s new wave, ’90s alternative, and modern indie rock, as well as our own original songs like Illusion, One Step Forward, and Run with the Rebels. We even weave in medleys and unexpected transitions that surprise and excite the crowd. We’ve had the privilege of performing at some of California’s most respected venues, including the Avalon in Hollywood, House of Blues, and Universal CityWalk. We’ve entertained at corporate events, weddings, and private parties, always bringing the same level of energy and care no matter the setting. Our adaptability means we can create an atmosphere that’s classy and refined or wild and electric, whatever the night calls for.
