Mama Juke

Mama Juke began in 2016 as a collection of musicians finding each other on the Brooklyn scene, and holding a residency every week on Saint Mark's St. in the East Village, exploring a blend of folk music stretching from Classic Rock b-sides to New Orleans tradition, Bluegrass, Country classics, modern pop, folk-rock and everything in between, hence the name Mama "Juke." For the past 10 years Mama Juke has made a name for themselves as a versatile party band that can field requests from every genre of US music from the last century while imbuing it all with a bit of New Orleans jazz, rock and roll energy and blue-eyed soul. We've played our music for hundreds of weddings, festivals, private parties and various venue concerts over the past 10 years, and pride ourselves on providing an unforgettable party with a real band that can play the standard classic hits but also like to rock out in a fresh way. A little bit different from the standard wedding bands but thoroughly field-tested and ensured to provide a great party. Our band includes a dazzling array of talent, including not only the veteran NYC working musicians Amos Rose, Jon Wert and Brendon Grady but also multi-talented musician/actor Eli Bridges. Mama Juke also works with many talented colleagues in larger band formats often, usually expanding the band with fiddle, keys, female vocals and a horn section, with packages of various sizes to offer to bring more of our broader community of excellent musicians onto the stage.
