Music has always been about connection for me. There is something special about playing the right song at the right moment and watching an entire room respond—whether that means creating an elegant atmosphere during a wedding cocktail hour, bringing people to the dance floor at a celebration, or playing a song that takes someone back to a meaningful moment in their life. I’m Terry Thomas, a professional saxophonist and bandleader based in the Austin, Texas area. I have been performing for more than two decades, and today I perform regularly throughout Texas and Louisiana at weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, restaurants, lounges, family gatherings, and special events. My musical style is rooted in R&B, soul, smooth jazz, funk, pop, gospel, and hip-hop, but one of my strengths is versatility. My repertoire includes hundreds of songs spanning multiple generations, allowing me to tailor the music to the audience and atmosphere of each event. I can provide smooth background music during dinner or cocktails, perform romantic selections for ceremonies and first dances, or turn up the energy with recognizable songs that get guests singing and dancing. I perform primarily as a solo saxophonist with professionally produced backing tracks, giving clients the sound and energy of a full musical experience without requiring the footprint of a full band. I also regularly collaborate with DJs, vocalists, and other musicians, and I lead my own full band, All U Need Entertainment. That flexibility allows me to adapt to everything from an intimate gathering of 20 guests to large corporate and convention events with hundreds of attendees. Some of my favorite performance experiences have included weddings and private events throughout Texas and Louisiana, corporate celebrations, milestone birthdays, family reunions, luxury private events, and performances for audiences of more than 500 guests. I also maintain recurring live performances in Central Texas, which keeps me performing, interacting with audiences, reading different rooms, and constantly expanding my repertoire. Professionalism is just as important to me as musicianship. I communicate closely with clients and event professionals before every engagement to understand the schedule, musical preferences, special songs, and technical requirements. I arrive prepared with professional sound equipment when needed and work comfortably alongside DJs, planners, venues, and production teams. What I enjoy most is reading the room. I don’t believe every event should sound the same. Sometimes the perfect performance is smooth and sophisticated; other times it means stepping onto the dance floor and becoming part of the party. My goal is simple: provide great music, make the client’s job easier, and help create moments their guests will remember long after the event is over.
