Livia

Music has been a part of Olivia’s life since she was born! At 4 years old, she started piano lessons with her nana, and developed a love for classical music which has continued throughout her life. Olivia worked both pianistically and vocally with her nana until she graduated from high school. In 2018, while studying with Jacqueline Schiller, she was awarded First Place in the NJMTA Young Musician's Competition. At the University of Kutztown Pennsylvania, Olivia met her current instructor, Juilliard graduate, Dr. Maria Asteriadou. Under her direction, Olivia has become an experienced soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. Olivia has also been studying jazz voice with Cathy Chemi, a singer with the Harry James Band. Olivia participates in various ensembles and musical groups that allow her to explore jazz studies and improvisation, arrangement, and songwriting. In 2019, Olivia won the Kutztown University Concerto Competition performing Tchaikovsky’s famous Piano Concerto No.1 in Bb minor. That same year, Olivia also won the Celebration of Music Competition hosted in Bethlehem, PA. In May 2022, she earned a BA degree in Commercial Music with high honours, with double minors in Audio Engineering and Astronomy. Olivia is currently working as a jazz vocalist and classical pianist in a variety of venues and environments. She records original music in a studio in New York, and continues to hone her skills as a composer and songwriter. She recently has recently performed at music festivals in Greece and Chile, and hopes to continue her musical travels and experiences.
