Donté Blaise

I’m a lifelong drummer, songwriter, and producer with 15+ years of live performance experience and a few hundred shows under my belt. I’m also a multi-platinum songwriter and producer, and over the years I’ve had the chance to work in a lot of different musical settings, from small rooms to giant stages and everything in between. Drums are my main instrument, but I’ve also played guitar and bass for 17 years, which has given me a pretty well-rounded understanding of how a band works. I’m comfortable jumping into different styles and situations, learning parts quickly, and doing whatever the music calls for rather than trying to make every gig sound like me. I’ve toured as both a drummer and guitarist, spent time living and working in Los Angeles, and have had the opportunity to play with a wide range of musicians over the years. I’ve also spent a lot of time in the studio writing and producing, so I tend to pay attention to the little things—dynamics, arrangement, tone, and how all the pieces fit together. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy playing music with people. I’m easygoing, professional, and extremely adaptable, whether I’m playing a full set with a band, filling in on drums, accompanying an artist, or helping bring a particular sound or vision to life. I’m not really the guy who’s going to tell you I’m going to “blow your guests away” or promise to be the greatest musician you’ve ever hired. I’d rather show up prepared, play well, be a good person to work with, and help make the event what you had in mind. And if something goes wrong? Well… I’m a drummer. We’re used to getting blamed for things. 😄
