Hello everyone!
I am extremely delighted to join the incredible Encore team and to share the common cause of supporting the community of musicians everywhere.
My musical journey began at a very young age with the study of classical guitar. My parents, however, started noticing a tendency to hit (and break) anything I had on hand. That’s how I started studying drums and percussion. With a keyboardist father who grew up in the era of English progressive rock and a mother passionate about music and poetry, it’s easy to understand the origin of my interest in the creative arts.Â
I’ve been part of an orchestra for several years, played in a couple of musicals, sang in a choir, and formed a few bands with my friends. You can ask what my musical tastes are at your own risk: I could start humming all Thick as a Brick (in its entire duration of 40 minutes) or tell you about the time I spent a whole day listening to the Smurfs soundtrack.
I moved to London to live in the centre of the European music industry, with the ultimate goal of becoming a professional session player. I continued my studies at the university level and obtained a BMus degree in Popular Music Performance.
Outside of music, I enjoy reading, collecting comics, and spending hours listening to Brazilian music. I’m also learning how to cook! (an Italian who is not good at cooking ?? I know, I know…)
It is my pleasure and honour to meet the team and support Encore in fully realising its potential!
Giulio smashing out some funky grooves!
