Hello everyone!

I am so delighted to join Encore and be part of this incredibly talented team making live music more accessible, rewarding, and ubiquitous – every day.

My musical journey began by being born into a family of Irish traditional musicians on my mother’s side, where the sounds of someone playing the uilleann pipes, flute, or button accordion were never far from any family gathering. It instilled in me a deep appreciation for the unique dimension to life that only live music can open up.

Between playing guitar in a band that I formed with my best friends (shout-out to the heady days of Loveless Lemon), and somehow falling into playing ultimate frisbee at university, my route through life has been an unorthodox one. Having started out in nuclear fusion research, I’ve since worn quite a few hats: from podcast producer to business development executive.

But I’ve found that the greatest satisfaction of all lies in creating a product for other people – a product that is a joy to use, and which can make other people’s lives better with every interaction. And this journey has brought me to Encore, and the amazing network and platform which the team has been building and nurturing for many years now.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all, and helping to evolve and grow this platform in exciting new ways.

Jonny is Encore's Head of Artist Relations.

He's responsible for supporting and helping musicians on the platform and writes most of the musician-facing articles on the blog. He can usually be found singing in choirs, drumming in bands, or nodding meaningfully to particularly good chords in London's jazz bars.
