We wanted to offer you this discount, because as musicians ourselves, we sympathise with how difficult things have been recently. It shouldn’t have really taken a global pandemic for us to start cleaning our instruments properly, but there you go. In a nutshell, Edgware BY BBICO is a new range of quality musical instrument maintenance products for woodwind and brass instruments, which we hope will revolutionise the environmental impact of the music products industry. We’re aiming big, here in Edgware, North London.

An alternative to the current industry standards which use harmful petroleum, mineral and synthetic-based oils – not only are these damaging to our already fragile planet, but they are also unsafe for unsupervised use by children. We are also committed to producing packaging that resonates with the wider population’s desire for the industry to create a lesser environmental impact.
Essentially, Edgware BY BBICO is a range of eco-friendly, British-designed and packaged musical instrument maintenance products. The range is manufactured to use less packaging, produce less waste, and provide healthy alternatives to the products available on the market currently.
We are aware that our products are not the cheapest on the market…but are proud to have a range that doesn’t cost the Earth, literally.
…phew, that was a mouthful…now let’s get down to business and tell you what we’ve got…
SANITISER SPRAY
Given everything going on at the moment, we thought we’d better start here. Our revolutionary (I know that’s a bold claim, but please keep reading…) 100% natural sanitiser gets its antibacterial properties from hypochlorous acid, which is produced naturally in the human body. Without boring you with all the sciency stuff, it’s very very good at killing germs, and won’t kill you if you wanted to drink it…which surprisingly can’t be said about other such products on the market. It kills 99.9999% of all germs in 1 minute. It’s free from alcohol, fragrance and harmful chemicals, and it’s skin friendly – we’ve been using it on our hands. Ideal for teaching, it’s safe to be used by children without adult supervision.
GREASES
Our greases are made in the UK from 100% natural ingredients, packaged in fully compostable cardboard tubing. They lubricate brass instrument slides and maintain the health of corks. We actually use our greases as lip balms in the office! We do love ourselves a good 2-in-1 product…one that will take up less space in our instrument case…or one that means we don’t have to give the “you must not, under any circumstances, put this anywhere near your lips” lecture to new pupils on Zoom…
OILS
Manufactured in the UK from all-natural ingredients, some of them are even food grade, so you could technically drink them…although we’re not sure why you’d really want to?! Our bore oil even contains lavender grown here in the UK, and is formulated to inhibit cracking and warping, and improve the tone of your instrument over time.
BRUSHES AND CLOTHS
Built to last, we believe our brushes and cloths are the highest quality on the market currently. With this in mind, we hope they will greatly reduce the number of products used and discarded by wind musicians over the course of their playing careers. Our mouthpiece and valve brushes feature a coating to prevent the scratching of instruments and mouthpieces, and our silver polishing cloth leaves an anti-tarnish coating behind to prolong your polishing efforts…handy!
BRASS SOAK AND TROMBONE WATER
Just some for our brass playing pals now, so skip a paragraph if you aren’t one of those! We have a pretty neat brass soak which attacks the biofilm build-up (a.k.a. the disgusting grime) inside the pipes of your instrument. The formula de-greases valves and slides, and leaves an anti-static agent which aids water repellency. Oh, it’s also got a fresh citrus fragrance, and is safe for all forms of plating and lacquer finishes. There’s trombone water in the range too, which will greatly improve the effectiveness of your slide cream, increase slide speed and prevent corrosion & limescale build-up. Exciting times.
