Veronica Colyer

Bookings Specialist

Hello to all!

I’m so thrilled to join Encore and work within a team where the members are also passionate about music, supporting musicians and facilitating live music.

My musical journey began as a toddler sitting under the piano, where I would ‘helpfully’ push down the pedals for my older sister as she practised. Although I wanted to be a popstar when I was younger, this dream was tragically cut short when I realised I could neither sing nor dance. Instead, I somehow ended up doing what you could call the second-best alternative and studied oboe at conservatoires in London and Paris. Less Beyoncé and more Be-on-time-for-rehearsal-ey.

Following a year of freelance work, I did a Masters of Music Psychology in Sheffield which I really enjoyed. After a drink, it is very likely I will start delivering anecdotes such as; ‘did you know that although scientists can neurologically locate where ear-worms happen in our brain, they still don’t know why we get them…’

Aside from music, I like running, swimming, and a good book or podcast. It is probably also important to mention Dot and Frank, the two cats who may likely appear in the background of a Zoom call. Dot is very sassy and Frank is, quite literally, a scaredy-cat.

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone more and am always open to receive music recommendations!

Jonny Venvell

Jonny is Encore's Head of Artist Relations.

He's responsible for supporting and helping musicians on the platform and writes most of the musician-facing articles on the blog. He can usually be found singing in choirs, drumming in bands, or nodding meaningfully to particularly good chords in London's jazz bars.
