Meet Alfie

Alfie Farrow

Social Media Intern

Hi there! I’m Alfie 😄

As a life-long lover of all things music, I’m super excited to be joining Encore to help attract more customers to Encore using social media. If you don’t follow us on Twitter or Instagram yet, now’s the time to start – lots of awesome content coming soon!

If you have gigs coming up, please take photos and videos and use the hashtag #encoremusicians on your favourite social platform (we think Instagram is the best one for musicians but we’ll be using Facebook and Twitter as well). I’ll repost them on our socials to give you an extra publicity boost 🙂

I play piano and spend a lot of my free time producing electronic music, but singing has and always will be at the heart of my passion for performance and production. I went to a music specialist academy, and although I ended up choosing humanities over music in the long-run, I got to spend my school years performing in musical theatre productions and taking part in a broad variety of choirs and ensembles.

After school I studied English at the University of Exeter, where I spent three years performing with Semi-Toned, the UK’s premier all-male a cappella group. The group gave me phenomenal experiences like touring the USA (twice) and appearing on TV in Sky 1’s Sing: Ultimate A Cappella and helped me to find my individual style as a musician.

Away from the world of music, I’m also a creative writer and have been lucky enough to have poems and short stories published in a number of publications in the UK and further afield. As well as this, I love to read, create digital art, and spend an embarrassing amount of time gaming (Destiny is my most played title!)… but it seems I’ve conveniently run out of time to talk about that!

I can’t wait to start getting to know the Encore community and help make bookings fairer and easier for musicians far and wide!

Jonny Venvell

Jonny is Encore's Head of Artist Relations.

He's responsible for supporting and helping musicians on the platform and writes most of the musician-facing articles on the blog. He can usually be found singing in choirs, drumming in bands, or nodding meaningfully to particularly good chords in London's jazz bars.
