Kelsey Hughen

Hi I'm Kelsey! I am a classically trained singer as well as a songwriter and musical theatre performer from Austin, TX. With over 20 years of experience performing live across a wide variety of settings, events and venues, it is my greatest love to get to sing and to perform! Whether it's playing my own songs in an intimate listening space, singing and dancing across a stage in front of hundreds in a musical production or singing that one special song for someone's first dance or as they walk down the aisle, I treasure each distinct experience for the magic it holds. In 2017 I released five singles from my debut EP and am currently in the process of recording my second EP in New York City, to be released in Autumn, 2026. My own music crosses a few genres, but could be placed in the indie-folk realm. Having spent time living in Scotland and traveling around Ireland as well as playing with Irish & Scottish folk musicians, I take great inspiration from Celtic sounds and traditions. Her sound is polished, and her compositions tenderly crafted—so obviously the product of passionate professionals." ~ Matthew Gilliam of Eastern Soundboard I've had the joy of playing in venues such as Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, Saxon Pub in Austin, TX and holding a residency at the Parker Jazz Club in Austin, TX. I've also had the dream of getting to sing at Carnegie Hall with the New York Chamber Choir. It's a great privilege to have played a musical role in weddings across Texas, in New York City, Italy and Ireland. The music you have on your wedding day is so important! It sets the tone for you and for your guests. It shifts the energy of the day as you move from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception to dance party. Fun side note - I hold a degree in Hospitality Management and have years of experience as a Wedding Coordinator, so I am very familiar with the ins and outs of the planning process. In singing for your special day, I ensure preparedness, professionalism and ease. With great respect I will hold the energy and intentions you wish to share and weave throughout your wedding day. Music is a beautiful expression of your unique story and nature within your coupleship and helps to mark this moment in time as you step into the next volume of life together, with those you love as your village. I am happy to coordinate with any other musicians or your DJ that may be playing/accompanying. I can also accompany myself on piano/keyboard or guitar, if that's something you'd like. I have many musician connections, especially in the NYC area and take pride in being able to bring in other musicians to be a part of your day, to help create the vibe you're going for, if that's something you're interested in.
