Stephen in a recent graduate of St Anne’s College, Oxford, where he studied composition with Professor Martyn Harry, and in 2016 he was winner of the St Anne's Composition Competition. He takes particular interests in electroacoustic and live electronic music, space, genre and music technology. His extracurricular activities while at Oxford included conducting the St Anne's College Orchestra and singing in the University’s premier chamber choir, Schola Cantorum. In September he begins studying for an MMus in Composition at the Royal Northern College of Music. Stephen is also a dedicated performer and currently studies violin with Catherine Yates, deputy head of strings at the Royal Northern College of Music. He has held scholarships for performance with ensemble ISIS (contemporary music) and the St Anne’s Camerata. He is an alumnus of Chetham's School of Music where he studied with Benedict Holland, and he is a former member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
