Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We have lots of great comments about our show.....in particular our harmonies and also our lighting. Our clients say makes their event more of a show and not just another band! Presentation is always very important to us both.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have many years of experience in the business and have played numerous venues including 5-star hotels, Theatres, Golf Clubs, Bowls Clubs, Warners & Shearings Hotels, Holiday Centres, Social Clubs and many other Private Parties and Events

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We both have had different influences, but we feel this combines to create a great show. Dawn is influenced by 50's Rock 'n' Roll & 60's singers such as Connie Francis, Brenda Lee & the 60's girl groups. Nigel's background is more influenced by the 60's harmony groups like The Searchers, The Hollies & The Four Seasons, in fact anything with good harmonies!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Performing with Martha Reeves & The Vandellas! They were amazing but treated us as equals (which we clearly were not!!)

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes absolutely. As we are a duo and also husband and wife, New Dawn will always be the same 2 people.

Do you have different line-up options?

See above...we don't perform as solo acts so it's just the one lineup. Female Vocalist and Male Keyboard-Vocals

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We appreciate that plans often change and sometimes at very short notice but this shouldn't be a problem, even on the day.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Music in between sets is a free service. We play music that complements our show but if you prefer your own playlist, we can play this through the PA, Just supply the songs as MP3 files on a USB Flash Drive

How much time do you need to set up?

With the full light show it would normally be 1 to 1.5 hours but please let us know if there are any issues at the venue such as parking difficulties or stairs as this can affect set up times.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes of course...there is quite a bit to choose from and we are adding new numbers all the time. There are certain numbers we like to open and close certain parts of the show with, but we are happy to work with you...subject to an overall performance time of around 2 hours split in to 2 or 3 sets.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes..the lighting is an integral part of the show and we feel adds to the atmosphere for your event. We also carry a 3500W Electrovoice PA System. Our curtain backdrop is 3 metres wide so as a minimum we would like 3m x 2m for a performance area and also secure changing facilities.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We will always try our best but this often depends if we can source a backing track. We have people who will custom write these for us but we may have to pass on the charge for this, especially if it's a song we may not perform very often. A track can cost anything from £5 to £40

Thank you so much Dawn and Nigel for a truly wonderful evening of first-class entertainment to help us celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. You are lovely people. God bless you both and hope to meet again in the not too distant future. Margaret and Reg Parsons

Christine C, 2 years ago

I am not usually one to write online reviews but I am making an exception in this case as "Credit where it is due" the New Dawn duo totally exceeded my expectations when they played for my husband's suprise 65th Birthday/retirement party. He is a lifelong fan of Connie Francis and Dawn's performance of 'Where The Boys Are' brought tears to his eyes, and earned her a standing ovation from our guests. Nigel and Dawn are both excellent singers in their own right, their harmonies are outstanding, and together with their superb lighting effects makes for a great nights entertainment which is second-to-none. Sincere thanks to you both Dawn and Nigel xx Christine and Bob Curtis
