Freelance soprano, administrator and music publicity designer
British soprano Miranda Ostler graduated from University College, Durham in 2015, where she was a choral scholar. She currently sings with choirs including London Choral Sinfonia (Michael Waldron), Icosa (Luke Mather), and Philharmonia Voices (Aidan Oliver), and is the soprano in the professional quartet at St George’s Church, Headstone (Huw Jones). She also deputises at numerous churches around London, including All Saints’ Margaret Street, Church of the Annunciation Marble Arch, St Stephen’s Gloucester Road, and St Mark’s Regent's Park. Miranda has toured Mexico and the UK with Schola Cantorum of Oxford (James Burton), and has recorded for film and television at Abbey Road, Dean Street, Air, and Angel Studios, London. Recent solo work includes McDowall The Lord is Good (English Chamber Singers/Martin Neary); Monteverdi Vespers (The Bishop’s Consort/David Stancliffe); Handel Messiah (Scott Inglis-Kidger); Purcell In Guilty Night, Luigi Rossi Disperar di se stesso (Musica Antica Rotherhithe/Oliver Doyle), Bach Cantatas 36 and 186 (Bishop's Consort/David Stancliffe); Cavalieri Rappresentatione di Anima, e di Corpo (Durham Opera Ensemble/Andrew Lawrence-King); Britten Hymn to St Cecilia (Schola Cantorum); Rejoice in the Lamb (Vox Holloway); Allegri Miserere; Howells’s and Fauré’s Requiem; Carissimi Jepthe; and she was the soloist for the première of Harvey Brough’s 2014 composition Incantation of Eden (Harvey Brough/Vox Holloway). Miranda is also Administrator for both the London Choral Sinfonia and Platinum Choral Workshops, and works as a freelance graphic designer.
