French-Swiss harpist Laure is a professional freelance harpist. She has won many auditions and plays regularly with professional orchestras.
Winner of the 2014 John Marson competition, French-Swiss harpist Laure Genthialon has performed solo recitals in Spain, France, Switzerland and the UK, in venues such as St Martin-in-the-Fields. She is also invited to perform concertos in the UK and abroad. Loving orchestral playing, Laure is free-lancing in London, playing with numerous orchestras in the city. She performs regularly with the Ensemble Les Dissonances in Paris, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and under famous conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Charles Dutoit and Kazuki Yamada. She recently won the harp position for the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and toured with them across Europe last August under the baton of Herbert Blomstedt. Laure has also trained with many youth orchestras including the Verbier Festival Orchestras, the Orchestre Français des Jeunes and the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra. Laure is currently studying for a Postgraduate Artist Diploma with Gabriella Dall'Olio at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she obtained last year her Masters. She is very grateful to the Montagu Cleeve Trust, the Leverhulme Arts Trust and the Trinity College London Trust which supported her throughout her studies at Trinity Laban. In 2012 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, and undertook a year of post-graduate study at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Very concerned about reaching new audiences, Laure has performed in numerous school concerts, nursing homes and jail and she is deputy harp teacher at Junior Trinity. Passionate about dance, she is co-founder of DIPTIK, a company which breaks the boundaries between music and dance.
