ICSO is Imperial College's flagship orchestra, filled with music loving scientists who enjoy performing great music to the highest standards

Welcome to ICSO, Imperial College London’s flagship orchestra, filled with music loving scientists who enjoy performing great music to the highest of standards. From performances of Mahler 3 to the Rite of Spring, to Peter and the Wolf with Lord Robert Winston in aid of Genesis Research Trust, there have undoubtedly been countless memorable concerts over the years. Some of the highlights include a sold out Cadogan Hall concert performing Dvorak Cello Concerto with Laura van der Heijden (BBC Young Musician of the Year 2012), a celebration of Benjamin Britten in 2014 with a performance of his War Requiem in Winchester Cathedral, the wonderful 2013/14 season of concerts featuring 5 of our own Imperial College students as concerto soloists as well as performing in the incredible Sibelius Hall in Helsinki this summer on our latest tour. Our 2014/15 season is looking to be very exciting and one that cannot be missed! Kicking it off with our annual weekend away to the Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester, followed by our Autumn Concert back at Imperial College which will include Marquez: Danzon No.2 and Rachmaninov’s Isle of the Dead. In February 2015, ICSO will be once again performing at Cadogan Hall, joined by another BBC Young Musician of the Year - Martin James Bartlett (2014), and will round the season off with ‘An Evening at the Opera’ in summer 2015, featuring singers from the Glyndebourne Opera.
