Exciting, experienced and versatile string quartet, established 2011. Classical/light classics. Available for Balls, Weddings, Functions.
The Fourier Quartet is widely held to be one of the finest quartets to have emerged out of Cambridge University in recent years. We are an an established, highly professional, versatile, reliable and successful premium string quartet, providing music specially tailored for you to create the ambiance you desire for your Function, Wedding or Ball. We are: Josh Michaels (Violin I), Rhiannon Randle (Violin II), Henrietta Hill (Viola) and Ben Michaels ('Cello). We have been playing together since 2011, when we met at Pro Corda (International Chamber Music Academy). Our players include former members of the National Youth Orchestra of GB, and current and former members of Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra. We were a Cambridge University Instrumental Award Music Scholarship chamber group for 2013-2014. Two of our members are currently postgraduate scholars at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. We are very experienced performers on the Cambridge May Ball scene, having performed at many Balls and Garden parties. We are regular performers at St. John’s May Ball and have been invited back to play several sets during the course of the evening for four years in a row. As well as St. John’s, we have performed on several occasions at Clare, Robinson, Queens', Pembroke, Clare Hall, Hughes Hall, St. Catharine's, Gonville & Caius, Girton and Darwin College Balls, as well as King's Affair, Emmanuel June Event and The Law Ball. In addition we are in demand for Weddings and Private Functions - for example, we performed at the annual Gates Scholars Gala - and have been hired for functions by the Mayor of Cambridge, as well as by many local companies for their corporate events. We are the University of Cambridge Vice Chancellor’s quartet of choice for events organised by the Vice Chancellors Circle. Please contact us for a quote to play at your Function or Ball in Cambridge, London or The South East.
