Filthy Lucre is an immersive music night that starts on the stage and ends on the dance floor.
Filthy Lucre is an immersive music night that starts on the stage and ends on the dance floor. We create immersive musical experiences with programmes built around artistic concepts. The musical content of our evenings isn’t determined by arbitrary genre constraints but by the ideas they express. Rather than being bonded by style or instrumentation, all of our nights have had at their core a striking musical image. Each night moves from a concert to a gig to club night over the course of the evening whilst exploring themes from cults to sixties minimalism to filth-funk.
Founded in Cambridge by Anthony Friend and Joe Bates in 2011, Filthy Lucre is now London-based. Its name is taken from the following quote:
"Whose mouths must be stopped,
Who subvert whole houses,
Teaching things which they ought not,
For Filthy Lucre's sake." – Titus 1:11
