About Ferio Saxophone Quartet

Saxophone Quartet
London, UK
Award winning professional saxophone quartet. Winners of The Royal Overseas League Ensemble Competition 2015 and The Tunnell Trust Awards.

Ferio Saxophone Quartet is an exciting young chamber ensemble formed of graduates from the Royal College of Music. The quartet was formed with the high aims to widen the horizons of saxophone quartet repertoire, perform established contemporary and classical works, collaborate with new composers, and performing this all to larger audiences. Since its formation in 2012, Ferio has developed and performed a wide-ranged and varied portfolio of music. By collaborating with composers to create original concepts, locating lesser known saxophone quartet works, and performing the group’s own arrangements, the quartet’s objective is to break the mould of a traditional saxophone quartet. The quartet is delighted to announce recent competition sucess; winning The Royal Overseas Leagure Ensemble Competiton and the Tunnell Trust Awards 2015 - 2016. As a result of winning these competitions, Ferio will be performing in the Grand Final of the Royal Overseas League, on the 1st June at Queen Elizabeth Hall, as well as performing a series of concerts in 2015 - 2016 across Scotland for the Tunnell Trust. Ferio regularly perform recitals in and around London, most recently performing at The South Bank Centre, and Conway Hall. The quartet are excited to be performing at Cambridge, Three Choirs, Harpenden and Ripon Music Festivals and several concert venues around the UK over the next year. The quartet has ambitious plans for 2015 - 2016 including several recitals across the UK, a summer tour of Italy, and premiering new works.
