In fall of 2014 Scott and I both arrived in London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the tutelage of Ronan O’Hora. As a result of this happy coincidence, Scott and I had the chance to rekindle a friendship that was founded years ago when we were Artists in Residence at the Banff Arts Centre. At the time, he was a student at the Yale School of Music, and I was working on my Bachelors Degree at The Juilliard School. Since our arrival in London, Scott and I have lead active performing careers, both as an ensemble and as soloists. This past October, Scott and I opened the Barbican Center's Sound Unbound Weekend with a two-piano recital at Milton Court Concert Hall. This two-day festival featured an array of artists such as Jeremy Denk and Nicola Bendetti throughout a weekend of concerts geared towards "releasing classical music from its traditional confines." Other recent high profile events have included my performance and radio broadcast on BBC3 of Gorecki's Piano Sonata and 4 Preludes, for the Barbican and BBC Immersion Series, as well as Scott's Grand Prize win in the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal Manulife Competition, which has resulted in numerous recital and concerto engagements across Canada this coming season.
