Downing College Chapel Choir
About Downing College Chapel Choir
Downing College Chapel Choir is a mixed-voice choir made up of scholars and volunteers. We are a diverse and friendly group of singers including undergraduates and graduates from Downing and other colleges, and also some local residents from around Cambridge. The Choir sings Choral Evensong on Sundays in the Chapel of Downing College, and late evening services of Compline on Thursdays twice each term. The Chapel boasts one of the best acoustics in Cambridge. In addition to performing at weekly college services, the Chapel Choir of Downing College sings in a wide variety of locations outside of Cambridge. Recent visits have included China, Amsterdam, The Hague and Brussels, Canterbury Cathedral, Ely Cathedral, Scandinavia, Canada and the East Coast of the USA.
