About Declan

Orchestrator, arranger and keyboardist. "The very best moment of live music I have ever experienced " - The Cambridge Tab
Orchestrator
Cambridge

Declan is a Cambridge-based freelance orchestrator, arranger, copyist and keyboardist. With his solid foundation in classical music, studying the piano under David Christophersen and training as a choral scholar at Jesus College, Cambridge, under Mark Williams, Declan enjoys working across a variety of genres, particularly specialising in music for the stage and screen. He has provided arrangements for the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, the Orion Orchestra and the Hull City of Culture 2017 celebrations, and was part of the team founding the Cambridge University Pops Orchestra, known for its sell-out ‘…in Trinity’ series. In addition, he has provided music preparation and editorial services to clients from America to the West End. As a performer, Declan specialises in playing the ‘keyboard and …’ – programming and playing sampled and synthesised keyboard parts or covering multiple instruments. He was keyboardist for 4 consecutive Footlights pantomimes, plays regularly with the LMTO Development Programme, and played keyboard and percussion alongside the Orion Orchestra accompanying the London Gay Men’s Chorus for their 25th Anniversary Concert “History” in Cadogan Hall. He appears on disc with the LGMC on their album “XXV”. Declan balances his musical output with his medical training, qualifying in June 2017.
