Meet George

George Gretton

Musician Support Specialist

Hello musicians!

My name is George, and I’m so excited to be joining the Encore team as Musician Support Specialist.

I grew up in Nottingham, and play guitar, bass, keys and dabble in singing. I’ve been a musician ever since my older brother formed a band in his teenage years. Being the annoying, impressionable younger brother I was, I followed suit.

Since then, I’ve been a member of a range of Jazz, Indie, Vocal and Electronic groups, playing live in multiple venues, festivals and countries. My favourites being Glastonbury and The Black Forest. The challenge of bringing music to life in a live setting is one I love, and I’m always working to improve.

I went on to study Music Production at Leeds College of Music, where I developed my love for using technology as a creative tool when composing and performing. I’m always experimenting with new plug-ins and effects to create new sounds, and also enjoy recording and producing for other artists.

When I’m not obsessing over my musical endeavours, you’ll find me listening to podcasts, watching films and cursing my luck as a Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Currently listening to:

I’ve been a huge fan of James Blake’s production and vocal style for a long time, so his latest cut has, naturally, been on heavy rotation. My personal highlights are What’s The Catch (feat. Andre 3000) and Don’t Miss It.
