Wondering how to improve your Artist or Group profile in order to get the most out of Encore in 2018?
Here’s a quick guide to updating your profile to make sure your profile contains the key info our customers are looking for.
Verified Encore Reviews are the most important aspect of your Encore profile, and you can only gain reviews by completing bookings through the Encore platform.
If you’ve done a booking through Encore and your client didn’t write a review, I would strongly suggest asking them to write one.
We send customers a couple of automatic reminders to write a review, but they’re often on a honeymoon or busy. Customers do respond well to musicians asking for reviews – if you don’t ask, you don’t get!
Well-shot promo videos are fantastic marketing materials, but customers really want to see live videos before they decide whether to book you. The savvy customers know that promo videos are shot and edited in the studio, so they don’t give an accurate representation of your live performance.
If you have any live videos which aren’t on your profile, or new videos you shot in 2017, add them now.
Don’t have any recent live videos? I’d recommend investing in a portable microphone (like a Zoom mic) to capture good sound, then record either on your phone or portable camera, like a GoPro. Of course, always ask permission from the event organiser before filming!
Testimonials are quotes from your existing customers or clients who booked you outside of Encore.
Make sure you have some recent testimonials from 2017 (or even 2018!), which proves to customers that you’re an active and well-received performer.

4. Song Lists
If you’re playing private events, weddings and functions, customers often want to see your Song List so that they can get a feel for your style, and pick and choose some of their favourite songs. The bigger your song list, the more choice the customer has!
If you haven’t added a Song List yet, you can add one on your profile or group profile under the ‘Repertoire’ tab.

The more photos you have, the better a customer can understand your unique style of performance.
We’d recommend having as many photos as possible, so if you got any good pictures in 2017 that aren’t on your Encore profile, go ahead and add them!

Having a fresh and up-to-date Encore profile improves your ranking in Encore searches and shows customers that you’re active and in demand.
