Yixun Yang

Yixun Yang is twenty years old and currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the BMus4 piano performance programme. Her main fields of interest are Piano solo performance, piano teaching and piano accompaniment. Yixun has always been very creatively minded and throughout high school was involved in every annual Music festival in her musical high school; took part in the concerto competitions, musical performance and piano accompaniment. In 2010, she won the first prize of KAWAI piano competition in Guangzhou; and the gold prize of Gulang island national young pianists competition in Xiamen. She also enjoyed playing chamber music with her classmates. Also she always been behaving nicely in lots of master classes. After studying piano with Qing Zhu and Professor Calyna Popova in The music school attached to Xinghai Conservatory of music, Yixun gained the confidence she needed to progress with her dreams to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is very much looking forward to taking all her different interests and applying these to what she really feels passionate about – a career in Piano performance and chamber music.
